FAQ's

To be considered, nominees must:

Live in, work in, or actively serve the Huntsville/North Alabama community
Demonstrate clear and meaningful impact aligned with the selected award category
Maintain a positive reputation within the community
Be willing to be publicly recognized at the event if selected

Additional Guidelines

Nominations must be fully completed to be considered
Self-nominations may be accepted
Rocket City Innovator reserves the right to reassign categories if appropriate
Current judges or selection committee members are not eligible
Previous winners may be considered at the discretion of Rocket City Innovator

Each nominee will be evaluated based on the following:

Impact: Demonstrated results, influence, or measurable change
Leadership & Innovation: Initiative, creativity, and forward-thinking approach
Alignment with Category: Clear connection to the selected award
Strength of Nomination: Quality, detail, and supporting examples provided
Community Contribution: Positive influence within the community

The Nomination Process

The nomination process is intended to be transparent, community-driven, and mission-aligned. It should invite the public to recognize individuals whose work reflects innovation, leadership, service, and measurable impact.

Nomination Requirements

To maintain quality and fairness, each nomination should:

Be fully completed
Include a clear and thoughtful written response
Align with the selected category
Describe actual impact, not just personal admiration
Include enough detail for a committee to understand why the nominee is deserving

Nomination Timeline

Nominations Open: May 1

Nominations Close: May 25

Review Period: May 26 – June 3

Honoree Notification: By June 5

Public Recognition: June 14

Step 1: Open Call
Public nominations are announced and accepted through the official form.

Step 2: Eligibility Review
Rocket City Innovator team reviews submissions for completeness and basic eligibility.

Step 3: Committee Review
A small internal or designated review committee scores eligible nominations.

Step 4: Final Selection
Top-ranked nominees are finalized and notified.

Step 5: Notification
Selected honorees are contacted privately and asked to confirm attendance, name pronunciation, title, photo, and recognition preferences.

Step 6: Public Promotion
Winners will be announced live at the event.

Rocket City Innovator reserves the right to verify nomination details.
Submission of a nomination does not guarantee selection.
Rocket City Innovator may reassign nominations to a different category if appropriate.
Incomplete or duplicate submissions may be disqualified.
The selection committee’s decision is final.
By submitting a nomination, the nominator confirms the information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
Selected honorees agree to allow their name, image, and nomination summary to be used for event promotion unless otherwise requested in writing.
